Painting: My painting method.

So, the method I have been using for my models is as follows:

prime black
fenris grey
shadow grey
devlan mud wash
general highlight shadow grey
build up to space wolves grey
add details

Battles: 1500 pts V chaos

I know I haven't posted for a while but their hasn't been much to say, anyway, onto todays game.

I played a chaos army with a dread, a rhino with berzerkers, 2 death claews one with berzerkers and one with plague marines, a greater daemon, some noise marines, some chaos marines and a daemon prince. All this against my 2 units of grey hunters, 1 unit of blood claws, ragnar, a rune priest, some wolf guard termies, 5 long fangs, a drop pod and a whirlwind. It was pitched battle with one objective each. I got thrashed to be honest, I couldn't stand up to the masses fire power and the deathclaw drop pod assault. I need to rework my list and tactics as I can't take hits even if i can deal with them.

Basing: What to use.

So, I have been thinking, for basing I have:

Static Grass
gravel
can get spikes/bits of buildings
can make snow
can get sand

I'm thinking for my wolves to use gravel covered in snow/rubble, maybe tiny sprinkles of static grass to make foot prints.

So, what would you sugest, I know I haven't been updating much but this will not be overly regular because I am not always working on wolves.

Space wolves: sorry!

Sorry for not updating for a while butv me wolves are now all built. Pics will come hopefully tonight!

Space Wolves: paint or transfer for ragnar symbol.

I'm just thinking that the ragnar symbol is quite difficult and I find it hard to reproduce stuff like that. Only problem is that I don't have any ard coat so i would have to take the step up and buy some.

So, what do you think.

Space Wolves: Nearly built it all!

So, I have nearly completely built my starting army. All I have left is 8 grey hunters + 1 wolf guard and to stick the missiles onto the whirlwind. Pics to come.

Evolution of a list: Grey Hunters V Blood claws.

Hi, today I wanted to talk about blood claw and grey hunter unit set ups.

I currently intend to run 9 blood clwas with flamer, power fist and wolf guard with TH/SS and 2x 9 grey hunters with melta gun, mark of the wulfen and wolf guard with power fist. Blood claws pod. I could swap 1 unit of hunters for some more claws though. Ehat do you think?

Painting: The painting formular for my wolves.

Ok, sorry for not posting in a while. I have been a little busy and am struggling with pics at the moment. But, here is my painting formular for the wolves armor:

Spray black
paint fenris grey
paint shadow greay a couple of times
wash heavily devlan mud
over all but deepest areas aply shadow grey again
line highlight of mix of shadow grey and space wolves grey
final highlight of space wolves grey.
battle damage

The wolf guard get this treatment:

Spray black
paint fenris grey
paint shdow grey a couple of times
heavy wash of devlan
highlight shadow grey
final highlight mix of shadow grey and space wolves grey.
Heavy battle damage

Space wolves: 9 grey hunters now done but no.10 on hold!

Hi guys. Sorry for the late post but I have been having problems with pictures and this blog. So, I had got like 10 pics for you but only 2 have suvived the draft save. Here they are!

Ragnar's mates: Arjac Rockfist A.K.A Haegr, the man mountain!

So, I was looking at the arjac rules when I saw one of his nick name, the amn mountain. Who daes that remind me of. O yes, Haegr, from the great Space Wolf book series by william king (for the first 4 and someone else for the other 2). Read them if you like space wolves. Now, since I am doing blackmane, I want to be able to fiels Haegr so I thought I'd use Arjac's rules. For goodness sake, he can even throw his hammer like haegr can in the books and the shield ability is similar to a Haegr's bulf ability I had in mind. I just think that these rules suit him really well and will work. So, at some point I will have to make a moel. Hmm, to bad I already built my wolf guard termies!

So, what do you think. Would you do it. Tell me.

Space Wolves: Grey hunters started (Mark Of the Wulfen shown)!

Hi, just thought I's share the 4 grey hunters I have built so far. I know i still havent put the other pics up but I have been having problems. Anyway, here are the pics:

Here is the mark of the wulfen guy close up. He has genestealer claws and I ripped up his armor then had my first ever try at sculpting fur. It doesn't look great but it will di. I gave him the wolf head standard thing so it's kinda like the 'mark' of the wulfen aswell.

So, what do you think of these guys, could I improve on anything and would you have done anything different. Thanks for reading,

Space Wolves: First post and what I'm up to!

Hi, this is Jacob from Gamers World and I just want to introduce you to my new blog.

So, my schools gtaming club was opened today and i started to build my whirlwind. this means i have built 9 bllod claws, 4 wolf guard termies, a drop pod, half a whirlwind and started my terminator rune priest conversion!
